You might feel slightly overwhelmed at the thought of having your picture taken all day, I would. But my aim is to always put you at your ease I want you to have the most fun, it helps me out, the more fun you have the better pictures I get. You’ll have a friendly, relaxed, unobtrusive photography experience and will receive a collection of fresh, modern images that will really tell the whole story of your day.
I don’t like those awful cheesy posed shots you know those ones where you’re looking wistfully off into the distance with massively blurred edges and a big heart shape, YUK! And there’s no need to make sure you’re always smiling for the camera and i don’t do reams of family shots with everyone waiting for ages. None of that – just you and your friends having a great time with me on hand to document it. My style is candid and reportage mixed with beautiful, natural shots, Honestly, that’s all you need.
At some point you’ll probably have some questions. Below are a few of the ones I get asked most frequently and my answers to them.
How many photos do we get?
Well I take a lot, loads actually often around the 1700-2000 mark, what you end up with at the end is at least 200 fully edited images. I say at least as I edit until I’m happy so if at the end I’ve got 282 as happened the other day then you get 282 at no extra cost.
How soon after the wedding do we get our images?
It takes about 6 weeks sometimes a tad longer sometimes a little sooner.
What is an engagement/pre wedding shoot?
An engagement shoot is a great way to get used to being in front of the camera, especially if you’re a little camera shy. It’s a chance to get some lovely, relaxed photos of the two of you, and if you have children you can include them in the shoot and make it a real family experience. There’s no pressure with this shoot, its a very relaxed and fun experience. I can shoot at your favourite place or choose to do something that’s special to the both of you. You will get the final edited images on disc as high res images, so if you want to use them for a guestbook or a signing board you can do.
Are you insured?
Yes, as a professional photographer I have public liability and professional indemnity insurance, as well as insurance for all my gear.
What areas do you cover? Do you travel?
I cover the whole of the UK and a lot of Europe too. But if you are within 50 miles of Sheffield or Leicester there will be no travel charge whatsoever. To put that in perspective that includes, Leeds, Manchester, Bolton, Chesterfield, Nottingham, Grantham, Lincoln, Derby, Loughborough, Warrington, York, Scunthorpe, Peterborough, Northampton, Birmingham, Coventry, Stratford, Warwick, and close enough to Cabridge, Telford and Shrewsbury as to make no odds.
We aren’t really comfortable in front of the camera and don’t want to feel like we are being posed.
Me too. This is very common, what I do with all couples whether they’re comfortable or not is give direction as opposed to posing them. I might for instance ask you both to walk over somewhere, something that requires movement so you cant pose properly even if you wanted to. That way i get the natural way you hold yourselves, it’s always a bit of a laugh and that’s when the natural smiles come out. It won’t feel formal.
